the ridge, a NUS publication, recently reviewed minute.
“The trailer for Minute had set quite a high expectation for itself with a digitised screen title of “Time is God’s way of preventing everything from happening at once”.
The plot tells of a young man who wakes up one morning to find his partner missing. In its approach of a supernatural theme with both characters having committed suicide, it reminds one of the scene from The Sixth Sense where Bruce Willis discovers himself to be a walking soul.
In its opening scene, the characters were framed at a beach, the first of many such silent, black and white flashbacks in the film.
The hint of a tinge of supernatural came in the repeated perspective of a buddhist altar.
Being a module assignment for Film Art, the experimental combination of silent, no dialogue, black and white setting is certainly commendable.”
